The domestic market size of wrist watches (sales in quantity and value) has followed an upward trend during 2017-2019, which was halted in 2020 (-29.6% in 2020/2019, in terms of quantity and -26% in value) as a result of the measured adopted in the market to limit the spread of Covid-19 pandemic (suspension of stores, etc.).
Analyzing the market based on the retail price of watches, it is observed that watches up to €600 account for the largest part of the market (approximately 85% in 2021). In 2021, despite the lockdown of the first months of the year, the wristwatch market recovered – to some extent (+17.2% in 2021/2020, in terms of quantity and +20% in value).
